WOMEN IN SCRIPTURE: Who They Are and Why We Should Care

However, it can be hard to find resources that highlight these women and the important roles they play both in the scriptures and as inspiration for women of faith today. موقع مراهنات Here, we have listed three resources that shed light on the stories of these bold and courageous women and remind readers of the unlimited divine potential of women. 

 

1. Women of the New Testament              (Camille Fronk Olson and Elspeth Young)

In this book, authors Camille Olson and Elspeth Young dive into the stories of the 50+ women introduced in the New Testament and reveal what we can all learn from them. Ranging from well-known figures like Mary Magdalene to the often invisible and nameless women referenced throughout the Bible, these stories honour women from all walks of life. Olson and Young highlight how, amid faith traditions that often marginalised women or defined them based on their relationships with men, Christ viewed these women as powerful agents unto themselves. 

Women of the New Testament shows us that the triumphs and struggles that these Biblical women experienced are not that different from our own, and the book serves as an invaluable source of knowledge and inspiration for women of faith everywhere!

2. Women of the Old Testament                        (Camille Fronk Olson and Elspeth Young)

A companion to the previous book, Women of the Old Testament makes it clear that women have been at the heart of God’s plan and holy work since the very beginning. 3. Girls Who Choose God: Stories of Courageous Women From the Bible  (McArthur Krishna, Bethany Brady Spalding, and Kathleen Peterson) 

From the authors of Girl’s Guide to Heavenly Mother and the beloved Latter-day Saint artist Kathleen Peterson comes this beautiful collection of Biblical women’s stories. While it may originally have been geared towards children, this book breathes life into the stories of women in the scriptures and makes them                                                                                                           accessible and relatable to women of all ages. 

Authors Krishna, Spalding, and Peterson have also written similar books featuring courageous women from the Book of Mormon and from Latter-day Saint history. We’ve linked them below and highly recommend them as additional sources of inspiration and light!
